Metric localization from a single image! In the first video below, you see how we reconstructed a 3D model of a tunnel from one image sequence. Then, in the second video, we use a single image to determine our localization (absolute pose) in the 3D model of the tunnel!

VR-project on the integration of geometry and semantics in computer vision, 2017-2020, funded by the Swedish Research Council. This is a basic research project with the aim of developing new mathematical methods and theory for computer vision applications, including medical imaging problems.
I am the main PI for the SSF project Semantic Mapping and Visual Navigation for Smart Robots which is a collaboration between computer vision, automatic control, machine learning and mathematics. Budget: 31.1 MSEK during 2016-2021. Funded by Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research.
